HORSE SUMMER CAMP
Horse camp is a journey into the world of horsemanship for children ages 7 to 14. Students will learn how to catch, lead, tie, saddle, and ride their horse. Each child will be assigned to a horse according to their skill level. Participants will
receive a “fill in the blank” work sheet
each day as we go through and explain the different aspects of
horsemanship including: behavior, nutrition, hoof care, conformation, equine sports, tack termanology, and more. Your child will learn responsibility and leadership through working with horses
in a group environment. A daily routine will involve warming up their horse
before riding lessons; cooling them down after the ride; cleaning up after them
and turning them out to pasture. They will learn how each horse has his own
personality and how we need to be good leaders so that the horse
understands and respects us. Your child will learn when,
where, and how to apply the appropriate amount of pressure to get the horse to do a
specific command. Beginner through advandced riders are welcome for camp. Camps are kept small to ensure each child gets one-on-one time with the instructor to improve their skills both on and off the horse. During the last day of camp parents are encourage to come watch their
child demonstrate the skills that they have learned. Also on the last day of camp, we will have a fun pizza party and each child will receive a little gift to remember their advantures here at camp.
COST PER CHILD: $300
A $75 non-refundable deposit is required to sign your child up for camp.
